CREATING A FLAGSHIP PRODUCTION SPACE

LinkedIn engaged IA as the recording studio consultant to design Pulse Studio, a flagship video production facility for the company’s New York City headquarters in the Empire State Building. The studio—where LinkedIn records and livestreams interviews with top business executives and cultural figures—needed to take advantage of its iconic location as a backdrop for video shoots while still offering total acoustic insulation from the building’s mechanical systems and the bustling streets below.

COMPLEMENTARY PROGRAMMING

Collaborating with architect-of-record M Moser Associates, IA delivered a state-of-the art studio that enables LinkedIn to produce professional-grade video content. As the recording studio consultant, IA also worked closely with LinkedIn’s production teams to determine their specific programmatic needs and design spaces that addressed them, including VIP lounges and green rooms, audio editing facilities, conference rooms, and equipment storage areas.

ICONIC VIEWS, OPTIMAL ACOUSTICS

The sound stage is designed to use the New York City streetscape as a backdrop to video shoots while still offering a controlled acoustical environment. To determine the optimal placement for the sound stage, IA studied ambient noise levels and sightlines throughout the seven-floor office space before deciding on the northeast corner of the third floor.
