Delivering state-of-the-art acoustic design around the world
Interdisciplinary Architecture (IA) is a full-service acoustic architecture firm that designs and delivers technically sophisticated recording and production studio design. Led by architect Tim Gorter, the studio has completed state-of-the-art production spaces in Asia, Europe, North America, and the Middle East.
IA has acted as an acoustic architect and recording consultant for projects of various scales, from single sound stages to comprehensive video production facilities with programming including several sound studios, green rooms, makeup rooms, review rooms, audio editing facilities, break rooms, secure camera storage, wardrobes, conference areas, and staff workstations.
The firm has designed and delivered sound stages ranging from typical black-box construction to custom studio environments, including a glass-walled recording facility on the 24th floor of a downtown office tower in San Francisco.
IA’s projects have been delivered as both new construction and as part of larger renovations of buildings ranging from tilt-up warehouses, mid-rise office buildings, and glass-and-steel towers.
